Prof. Hisham Abdelsalam
President, The Egyptian E-Learning University (EELU)
Prof. Hisham Abdelsalam is a Professor of Operations Research and Decision Support at Cairo University, Egypt. He joined EELU in 2019 to serve as the Vice President for Development and Innovation, then in June 2020 he was appointed as the Acting President of the University, and in January 2022 he was appointed as EELU President. Prof. Abdelsalam received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Old Dominion University, Virginia, USA, in 2000 and 2003, respectively. He obtained his bachelor’s degree with honors in mechanical engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1996. During the past 25 years, Prof. Abdelsalam has acted as Operations Research and Decision Support Chairperson, the Director of the Decision Support and Future Studies Center (DSFS) in Cairo University, the Director of Research and Development in the National Management Institute (NMI), and the Manager of the Future Studies Center, Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), the Egyptian Cabinet, Egypt. Prof. Abdelsalam has led several funded research and consultancy projects, and has around 80 internationally published research articles, book chapters, and conference papers. His research interests extend to cover the areas of e-learning, strategic management, performance management, e-government, project management, and operations management.
